Fashion trends for the New Year

I will start off by saying that I am by no means a fashion expert nor do I consider myself super stylish tbh. Style is very personal and I feel that no matter the “trend” of the season/year you should always stick to what you like and are comfortable with. Don’t necessarily follow the latest trends (as ironic as that may sound considering the title), rather draw inspo and mix it with your individual style :)

Before this gets too long and boring, here are my top 3 picks for 2018 trends worth embracing;

Show-stopper pants

The bell-sleeve has been a long favourite and trend for many of us and while it still is super trendy and fashion –forward I think it’s time pants took the headline act ;)

These pants can be worn dressed up or down. Flared eyelet pants (Image 1) can be paired with old-skool vans and a cute tee if you feeling a bit casual.

The fringe pants can also be paired with a cool sneaker or flat slip on if you are not in the mood to dress up.

Lastly, the classic paper-bag waist can be worn with Birkenstock’s and a plain crop tee for a more muted feel.

2. Mules and flat summer sandals

Calling all sisters who do own mules to take a moment of silence for those sisters who do not. Just kidding, but mules are such a cute wardrobe staple to have especially for summer. It’s like a sandal only classier ;)

Summer sandals 2017 into Jan 2018 have really revolved around the ready-to-go slip on.

Birkenstocks are so cute, although not everyone’s cup of tea, I think they are so fashionable.

The mule with a slightly higher heel is perfect for taking a laid back outty to the next level and

the slip on mule is perfect for a dressy outfit without the pain of heels all day (yaaaaas!).

3. Floral every and anythaaang.

We have all been seeing all those pretty summer floral dresses and tops. I can’t think of anything better to wear when doing all those summer wine tastings and vineyard visits.
