HANDMADE WITH LOVE: Love doesn't cost a thing
LOVE IS IN THE AIR
Valentine’s day is a day of celebrating love – the love between relationships and often it’s a day for many to express how much love they have for someone else. In this day and age, there are plenty of alternatives other than just opting to spend a couple of hundreds on the first gift that comes to mind.
What female doesn’t love getting the biggest bunch of red roses on Valentine’s day, wrapped with love and knotted with a string of expensiveness? – I know I do! BUT I prefer a gift that had some thought put into it.
Here is my alternatives before spending a buck – BE CREATIVE AND GO HAND PICK HER A ROSE.
What you can do with a garden:
Create a bouquet of flowers – wrapped with a lovely ribbon to finish it off
Sprinkle some flowers in a hot bubble bath for her
Mash up flower petals into a massage oil to give off a relaxing aroma – give her a foot massage
What you can do with a little bit of thought:
Get some odd pieces of paper laying around the house and create a handmade card
Got plenty of pictures on your cellphone that absolutely deserve to be cherished? Print the out and frame them
Bake him/her a cake – after all they do say, ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his tummy’…..
These are only but a few suggestions that come to mind but there are many more creative ways to show your special someone how much they mean to you.
Bonus tip: Chart Farm boasts a wide variety of roses, with many well loved for their scent.
Roses are available to “Pick-your-own” at just R5.50 a stem as well as ready picked and for special orders.
